Albert Walker’s early life in Chicago was marked by a rough start. Growing up in a single-parent household with his mother working two jobs as an LPN to support him and his two siblings, Albert became involved in criminal activities that resulted in frequent run-ins with the law. However, after meeting Gordon McLean, director of Youth for Christ in Chicago, Albert was introduced to the gospel and called to a life of faith. Although he initially struggled with his sins, he eventually found redemption and was transformed by God.
Gordon McLean was a key figure in helping Albert turn his life around. McLean retired in 1999 after serving over 50 years to the youth in Chicago streets, and his influence was felt in the lives of some of the most notorious gang members in the city, including Albert’s. After surrendering his life to the Lord, Albert has been passionate about sharing the transformative power of the gospel with everyone he meets.
Today, Albert lives in Green Bay with his wife Eldena and their five children. He is an ordained minister and holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian counseling. As president of Sons of Faith Ministries, he continues to spread the gospel and offers counseling services to those in need. Albert is also a skilled writer, producer, and musician, having been involved with music since 1987. He uses his musical talents to glorify God and communicate the message of the gospel.
Reflecting on his journey, Albert credits God for the changes in his life. He understands that his past struggles were part of God’s plan to bring him to a place of redemption and new beginnings. He points to 2 Peter 3:18 as a reminder to continue growing in faith and knowledge of the Lord, acknowledging that God is the source of all his accomplishments.
