Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I developed a deep love for my city despite its challenges. As a mother of three and the wife of a minister, I have a vested interest in its spiritual state and its residents. That’s why I feel called to serve in urban ministry through the Captive Project.

My passion for ministry began early in my Christian walk, when I prayed for guidance on how to serve God. One summer day, I looked out my window and wept for my community, feeling their pain and misery. As a single mother, I understand firsthand the fears and emotional pain that many in our urban community face. But through God’s comfort and salvation, I found hope and purpose.

The Lord has blessed me with a talent for music, which I use to exhort others in Him. I believe that the arts can bridge barriers of age, ethnicity, race, and economics to communicate God’s love for sinners and His desire for reconciliation through Christ.

I am grateful to be a part of the Captive Project and serve God in this capacity. As it says in Romans 10:14-15, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” In His service forever.
